Subang Jaya: A Japanese guest could not believe his luck when he was announced the winner of Go for Gold lucky draw contest, organised by Holiday Villa Hotels & Resorts.
Managing director of Toyo Tyre Manufacturing (M) Sdn Bhd, Kanji Kasai, 55, walked away with a gold coin worth RM5, 000, a three day and two night stay at Holiday Villa Langkawi, and a high- tea voucher.
"I was shocked when the hotel called to tell me that i was picked as the lucky draw winner for the month of February. I never thought i would win," said Kasai, who lives in Australia.
The hotel's business development and special projects director Kenneth de Silva said the monthly contest was launched in February, in conjunction with the hotel's 25th anniversary.
"It is one way for us to engage our guests and thank them for their continuous support over the years."
He said 5,000 entries were received from room guests and diners of Holiday Villa properties located in the United Kingdom, France, Indonesia, Cambodia, Qatar, Sudan, Vietnam, China, and Malaysia.
Those who spend a minimum of RM300 in a single receipt stand a chance of winning a gold coin and other prizes.
The contest ends on Dec 31.
